In and around Pattaya
Pattaya Beach. The half-moon-shaped beach is about 4 kilometers long with a Road running parallel to the beach. North Pattaya and Central Pattaya are not as busy as the south beach.
Jomtien. This 6- kilometer long beach is only 4 kilometers from Pattaya. A road runs parallel to the shore along which there are hotels and restaurants.
Wong Phra Chan Beach. This small tranquil one kilometer beach is on the northern side of Pattaya Bay. The serene atmosphere here is attractive to those longing for a complete rest and privacy.
Koh Lan. This island is 7.5 kilometers from South Pattaya. Fine beaches with white sand and clear water are on the western side of the island.
Koh Sak. Six hundred meters north of Koh Lan is Koh Sak, A small island shaped like an up-turned horseshoe. There are two connecting beaches to the north and south.
Mu Koh Phai. This small group of islands is 23 kilometers from Pattaya beach comprising of Koh Phai, Koh Man Wichai, Koh Lueam and Koh Klueng Badan. Koh Phai is the largest one and is under the supervision of the Royal Thai Navy.
Silver Lake Vineyard is located at Na Jomtien, Covering an area of 400 rai (1600 sq.m ) with 12 kinds of grapes, 11 of which are grown for fresh consumption and the other one is for making wine with. Sit and sample the drink at the local refreshment stall whilst looking over the vineyard.
Suan Nong Nuch Tropical Garden is just 15 minutes east of Pattaya it has emerged as a fascinating tourist destination, renowned for its wide range of orchid species, palm garden, various flowing and decorative plants from around the world. In the well kept, beautiful landscaped gardens you can quietly stroll among flower beds enjoying the aroma and the millions of different colours. Once you get hungry there are excellent restaurants to choose from with Fresh sea food, Chinese, European, Thai and authentic Korean cuisine. Something for the whole family is an elephant show. You will see these gentle giants the symbols of Siam perform various tricks such as riding bikes, playing football and they will even invite you to a tug of war.
Chaloemphrakiat Public Garden. This is a fitness park at the foot of Khao Pratamnak Pattaya. With an area of 6 acres (24,000 m2), the park was dedicated to commemorate His Majesty the King's sixtieth birthday on December 5, 1988.
Sanctuary of Truth. This gigantic wooden structure is situated by the sea at Laem Ratchawet, North Pattaya. The sanctuary of Truth was first built in 1981 by Mr. Lek Wiriyaphan, the founder of the Ancient City in Samut Prakan Province. Today it is still under construction with an estimated completion time of ten years.
The Million-Year Stone Park and Crocodile Farm. The grounds are landscaped with flowers and rock gardens. Hundreds of crocodiles are kept here as well as some rare animals, including albino bears.
Mini Siam. This is a famous model village. It celebrates the heritages of Thailand with miniature replicas of the most famous monuments and historical sites from around the world.
Pattaya Elephant Village. This elephant camp focuses on daily life of the elephants and their masters. They also offer stage shows demonstrating, how to catch wild elephants, elephants-at-work in the jungle, elephants playing football and a grand war elephant parade.
There are several experienced PADI dive shops in and around Pattaya offering Scuba Diving lessons and boat trips to some great dive sites. Many visitors to Pattaya don't even realise there are idyllic islands and shipwrecks in nearby waters. Pattaya is the only place in Thailand where there's safe all year round diving.
Coral Reef Submarine Tours are very popular here in Pattaya. There are both submarines and semi-submarines on offer to give you the opportunity to admire the beauty of the underwater coral reef around the area of Koh Lan and Koh Sak.
Pattaya has got to be one of the finest places for the golf enthusiast. With 18 international standard golf courses within a half an hours drive of Pattaya. Some of the courses being designed by famous top class players like Nick Faldo and Jack Nicklaus makes Pattaya the perfect golf location.
Thailand is well known as a shoppers paradise with Pattaya being no exception. Shops similar to what you are used to back in your home country are available. From small shops to the large shopping Mails, names like Tesco Lotus, Royal Garden Plaza and Big C are all here in Pattaya. This year we saw the largest in Asias' beach front shopping mail open up here in Pattaya it is "The Central Festival Plaza" Here you will find many well known shops inside.
Whatever you are looking for here in Pattaya you can find; from major hotels offering gourmet dining, cocktail lounges and discotheques to supper clubs which offer excellent food, drinks, music and international entertainment. Such establishments are ideally suited to family entertainment. Nightlife beyond Pattaya hotels is much more liberated and exciting. Go-go bars are mostly located in south Pattaya, particularly on 'Walking street Discotheques, transvestite cabarets, night-clubs, coffee shops, karaoke bars, open-air bars and restaurants with live music and entertainment all compete for attention.
Pattaya offers many different types of transportation from motorbike taxis, Songtows, (pickup trucks) local buses and private limousines. Pattaya and the Eastern Seaboard enjoys sunshine virtually all year long, with temperatures averaging 30°C. With its location being within the Gulf of Thailand it is very rare for us to experience the bad weather and high winds other neighboring countries get. Thailand has three main seasons the cool season starting in December and lasting until February, The hot season which starts in March and last up to July and then the rainy season which starts in August and lasts until November.
